Below is a message from Donnie Coates MBHS Class of 1964 concerning the passing of his son. Please leave a message for the family by clicking the remarks link below.
Dear classmates MBHS '64...... I have tried for several days to tell you ... just could not get it together. I have thought so much about our classmates who have experienced similar situations. On Monday.... March 15 .... my son... Randall Brooks Coates ... died of cardiac arrest. He was 40 years old. No medical issues. No health problems. Completely unexpected. You can see his obituary on Snow's Memorial Chapel ... Cherry Street ... Macon GA. His Mass of Christian Burial was at St Joseph Church Macon ....Friday .... March 19 ... the Feast of Saint Joseph. At the mass his body was present. Following the mass Brooks was cremated. Yesterday (Tuesday) ... Karen and I received his cremains ... and we brought the urn to our home. We are going to take Brooks to Natchez MS.... where he was born .... and all Karen's family lives .. to bury him with family. Al and Lissa and Davy and Diana (they live in Durham) were here for the services. My brothers and their wives are BLESSINGS! Please remember Brooks in prayer ... for the happy repose of his soul. May he rest in peace. "Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him." Wishing all of you God's blessings... Donnie

Passing of Posted Monday, March 29, 2021 07:54 AM Please accept my sincere apology for not posting this message on time. To the family of Randall Brooks Coates, please accept my condolences for this great loss. Losing a family member is one of the biggest tragedies a family can face. Although I had never met Randall, I knew his Dad and uncle, and they are both two of the finest men I know. I know that Donnie and Karen would have raised him to be the type person they would be proud of, know that Randall is in our thoughts and in our prayers. May he Rest In Peace. Randy & Patsy Jennings

Please know we are praying for the Coats family during this difficult time in your lives. My heart goes out to you. I think about you and your brothers every time I pass your parent's house.
