Thomas Wesley DuBose Jones 72, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016. Born July 25, 1944, in Columbia, SC, son of the late Harry Jones, farmer of LaRue, Ohio, and Louise DuBose Jones, motel owner of Myrtle Beach, SC. Tom attended LaRue High School, graduated from Myrtle Beach High School, and received his mechanical engineering degree from the University of South Carolina. He was a proud member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Tom was a U.S. Army Veteran. Following his military service, he joined Carolina Power and Light in Raleigh, NC, and later worked at Charleston Ship Yard. He was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church and member and former president of the Optimist Club. Tom was the proprietor of many rental apartments and was his own fix-it-man. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. R.M. (Judy) Moore, loving companion Sandi Brown and extended family. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, GRISSOM CAMPUS, 3810 Robert Grissom Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC. The family will greet friends following the service.
