What is a Birthday Dinner?

For our class, it's a time we get together as a class (with spouses, kids, friends and other NHS classes) to visit and catch up on what's happening in our lives.  We meet about once a month in a local restaurant or class member's home and discuss almost every topic you can imagine.  It is also a time to remember our fellow classmates who are no longer with us.  Some left us in their youth or a little later, and some used to meet with us monthly at these dinners.

So even though we call these gatherings birthday dinners, they actually have more to do with us and our families than they do with birthdays.  We refer to them as birthday dinners simply because at least one member of our class can claim the current month as the one in which he or she was born.  We just use birthdays as an excuse to get together.

If you've given us your current email address on this class website, you should receive an email with the details of the next dinner a few weeks before the gathering.  Let me encourage all of you to attend whenever you get a chance.  If you live outside the Nacogdoches area, let me know if you're planning a visit here, and we'll arrange our dinner to meet your schedule.  If you're not a member of our class, but would like to join us at some of these dinners, contact me at gdobbs75941@gmail.com and I'll add you as a guest member so that you'll be notified each time we meet.
