Mr. Mark S. Greer, age 54, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

Mr. Greer was born Jan. 18, 1956, and was a sawmill operator.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Greer of Nacogdoches.

Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North St., Nacogdoches, Texas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 5400 North St., Nacogdoches, Texas.

Mr. Mark Sebren Greer, age 54, of Nacogdoches passed away Monday, January 10, 2011, at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

Mr. Greer was born January 18, 1956, in Nacogdoches and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a 1974 graduate of Nacogdoches High School where he enjoyed playing football. In his youth, he enjoyed being a Boy Scout. Mark was a member of Stallings Drive Church of Christ and had owned and operated Greer Lumber Company for 26 years.

Survivors: his wife, Mary Greer; mother, Pattye Greer of Nacogdoches; sons, Mark S. Greer II and girlfriend Heather Merchant of Nacogdoches and Matthew Greer and wife Heather of Ft. Worth; step-sons, David Crisp and wife Brandy and Doug Crisp and wife Dawn, all of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Jake Crisp, Ivy Crisp, and Brandon Crisp, all of Nacogdoches; sister, Deborah Greer of Houston; and brother, Perry Greer of Denver, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hoover Greer.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with Jay Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Pallbearers: Robert Shirley, David Crisp, Doug Crisp, James Lewis, David Lewis, and Robin Wright. Honorary pallbearers: Joel Weatherly, Steve Johnson, and Jerry Deason.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 5400 North St., Nacogdoches, Texas.

"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" Mark was my classmate and I have known him for many yrs. We had many good times and laughs togather. I am praying for the family that God will be with you and keep you in his care.

Said my good-bye to Mark and my condolences to his family tonight. I'm so sad for his sons and Mary. I had no words to ease their heartache, just that I will keep them in my prayers.

Janie Evans Smith Amazing video! Jan, thank you so much for posting this beautiful tribute to Mark! I hated hearing of his passing because he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family. I echo Michael's comments about Mark's smile...I can't remember a time when he wasn't smiling!

Saying goodbye to Mark was not easy. He was a wonderful man, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His memories will live on forever!!
