Sandra Hornbuckle, 63, of Nacogdoches, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020. Visitation will be at 5:00-7:00PM on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at Laird Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00PM on Thursday December 31, 2020 at Laird Funeral Home. Interment will be at Gravel Ridge Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Sandra Kaye Hornbuckle was born on May 11, 1957 in Nacogdoches, TX to C.L. and Rosie Partin. She attended Nacogdoches schools growing up. In high school, she participated in band and she met the love of her life, Russell Hornbuckle. Upon graduation, Sandra attended Massey Business College in Nacogdoches and on March 12, 1976 she was married to Russell. Together they raised two children, Misti Hornbuckle Triana and Christopher Lee Hornbuckle. She was a loving wife and mother.

She worked as a baker and cake decorator for Brookshire Bros. and Dairy Queen. She made many birthday and wedding cakes for friends and family throughout the years and was well known for her delicious creations. She also worked for Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital as an aid, Nacogdoches Credit Bureau, Medical Billing Management and she finished her working career at the Surgery Center of Nacogdoches. She retired in 2006 to be a full time Grammy. She was the best Grammy to her 5 grandchildren. She absolutely loved being a Grammy and there was not a single thing she would not do for her babies. She attended every function from basketball, baseball (in the scorching heat and freezing rain), to field days and school plays. She loved family traditions and always made Easter and Christmas very special. She loved her children and always let them know how proud she was of them. And, she loved and cherished her husband, her best friend of 44 years, 9 months. She also enjoyed attending church with her family. She was a member of Westside Missionary Baptist church for more than 30 years and has attended New Hope Church the past 4 years. She loved The Lord and she was not ashamed to say so!

Sandra is survived by her husband, Russell Hornbuckle, daughter and son-in-law, Misti and Joe Triana, son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jennifer Hornbuckle, brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Trilla Bailey, brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sandra Bailey, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Harvey Hamby, and sister, Charlotte Perry, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Beverly Hornbuckle, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra and George Dearman, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Cathy Hornbuckle and sister-in-law, Dani Hornbuckle. Her grandchildren, Nolan Graves and fiancé, Candace, Caleb Graves, Stephen Triana, Haylee Hornbuckle and Tucker Triana. She has a host of nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Partin, her father, C.L. Partin, her father-in-law, Chester Hornbuckle, her mother-in-law, Margaret Hornbuckle, and her brother-in-law, Bruce Hornbuckle.
