Robert was a great friend to many in the Class of 74.  He came to one of our class gatherings for Homecoming in 2010.

He was a beloved teacher and friend to many.

Robert loved Jill, so therefore, I love Robert! Believe me, he would be grinning and shaking his head if he had known I said that. For many years, I thought Robert just tolerated me, I was that annoying gnat buzzing around and letting him know when I didn't like something he did or felt he mistreated my friend. I constantly told him to get off his "high horse" and talk to me in language that made sense to me and I knew that he probably thought of me as a silly. complete dunce. But, whenever he knew I was hurting or struggling, Robert would reach out to me and share words of comfort. When we lost Jill, Robert and I spent a good bit of time together trying to understand what happened. Without her around, I finally realized that Robert and I had developed our own friendship over the years. He may have growled alot but you could be sure that it wasn't enough to cover his kind heart. I will miss you Robert.
