Edward Blount Tucker III, passed away on August 30th 2021. He was born April 8th 1957 to Edward Blount Tucker Jr. (Sonny) and Billie Jeanne Tucker. Mr. Tucker grew up in Nacogdoches and graduated from Nacogdoches High School where he played on the NHS baseball team. He was accepted and attended Texas A&M for two years. He returned home to complete his degree at Stephen F. Austin. Mr. Tucker was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and was an acolyte during his high school years.
Mr. Tucker worked offshore for Arethusa in the Gulf of Mexico. At this time, he decided to reside in Port Aransas, Texas. From Arethusa, he then went to work for Diamond Offshore on a deep water drillship, The Ocean Clipper, off the coast of Brazil. On his days off, catching redfish became his passion. He was his happiest waist-deep in waders casting for redfish in the Laguna Madre. He retired from Diamond Offshore and became a skilled fishing guide. He continued guiding until his health declined.
Mr. Tucker returned to Nacogdoches and resided with his sister, Anne, and his brother-in-law, James Lewis, until his death. He was predeceased by both parents and sister, Jane Ingraham Tucker. He is survived by his two sisters, Anne Lewis (James) and Susan Motley (David). He is also survived by his two nephews, Allen Lewis (Jenna) and Marshall Motley (Anne). Also surviving him are nieces, Amy Swan (Todd) and Mary Kate Motley. Edward was under the care of Heart to Heart Hospice. His family gives many thanks to his nurse, Cathy, and his aide, Dee. They attended to his every need and were such a blessing to the family.
There are no immediate plans for a service at this time. Edward will be buried at Sunset Memorial alongside his parents and sister at a future date. Any memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church and Love Inc.
