
Bobby Handy, AKA, Rashid Hamidullah Old journey began September 3, 1956. New journey begins July 15, 2005. Funeral services for Bobby Handy (Rashid Hamidullah) will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Sid Roberts Chapel. Internment will be in the East Texas Islamic Society Cemetery in Tyler, Texas. Praise be to Allah (God) for him. He was a very special husband, father, son, brother and person, but most of all he strived to be the very best Muslim that he could be. He loved the Islamic Brotherhood Community of Nacogdoches, Lufkin and the surrounding areas. He was a veteran. He was one of the first Dragon Dads at Thomas J. Rusk school, and he coached the Raiders flag football youth team at the Nacogdoches Parks and Recreation Center for many years. He also coached the Ballers North America Youth Summer Basketball League and was the assistant coach for the Nacogdoches Baseball Association. He was active in the lives of young people striving to make a difference, and he also helped set up Nacogdoches' 1st AAU track meet. He leaves to celebrate his return to Allah (God) from whence we came, his wife, Queen Handy, of Nacogdoches, Texas; sons, Tracy of San Antonio, Texas, and Antonio (Tony) of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughter, Kashanna "Shanna" and her husband, James, of Little Rock, Arkansas; special mother, Thyatira Young of Brooklyn, Texas; mother, Clara Davis of Houston, Texas; brother, Charles Brown and his wife, Annett, of California City, California; sister, Dorland Norris and her husband, Jeremiah, of Houston, Texas. Arrangements entrusted to Sid Roberts Funeral Home.
