Betty Jean Lear, born Betty Jean Myers on Dec. 17, 1933, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2013, with her loving family around her. Betty was born in Stockton, Calif., to Frank and Marie Myers, and later moved to Napa, where she worked at Rough Riders and the Napa Valley Unified School District.

She is survived by her three children, William Casassa (Mary), Laura Harris (Donald), Rick Casassa; her grandchildren, Mark, Brandon, Laura Marie, and Nathan; and great-grandchild, Morgan. Betty was widowed three times in her life. She was predeceased by her husbands, William D. Casassa, George Gephart and Donald Lear. She is also survived by a large extended family.

Betty was a member of the IOOF and Rebekkah’s organizations in the Napa and Vallejo area. Betty held the offices of grand noble, deputy district director and various others.

Betty loved to travel, and arranged bus trips and cruises for the seniors in her community to various venues. She organized the bingo nights at the clubhouse on Friday nights. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her for her kind heart, sense of humor, and love of teddy bears.

A memorial service and internment will be held at Tulocay Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, June 20, at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at the Napa Valley Mobile Home Park, 1040 Orchard Ave. in Napa.
