Iris Stricklin
Iris Stricklin, 79, passed away on July 16, 2012. She was born in Napa on Nov. 11, 1932 to Irvin and Norma Rumble. She grew up in Napa and worked for a short time at the Napa State Hospital, but preferred to stay at home and be mom and later, a grandmother.
She married Everett Stricklin in 1975 and she enjoyed taking care of their yard, especially growing azaleas, irises and rhododendrons. She loved her dogs (Boston terriers). Her greatest joy in life was her two grandsons, Stevie and Tim. She was their biggest fan at all of their soccer, football and baseball games.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Clarey and Dr. Mirda and their staffs for all of their compassionate care.
Iris is survived by her husband, Everett Stricklin; daughter, Cathy Hartley; grandsons, Stevie and Tim Hartley; sisters, Grace Stevens and Betty Forte; stepsons, Jerry Stricklin and Terry Stricklin. She is predeceased by sisters, Barbara Hellmann, Bertha Moore and Betty June Humphrey; and her son, Patrick Hartley.
A service to honor her life will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 11 a.m., in the Tulocay Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Napa Humane Society or Hospice of Napa Valley, 411 S. Jefferson St, Napa, CA 94559.
