Patricia 'Pat' Jordan (Krenke)

Patricia 'Pat' Jordan (Krenke)

Patricia Ann 'Pat' (Jordan) Krenke passed away on June 7, 2025 in Napa, California at the age of 80.

At Napa High, Pat was a member of The Thespians, appearing in 'Gentlemen Prefer Blonds' and 'Our Town.'  She was also on staff to the Napanee yearbook, assisting in sales.

Pat was part of the 'locally famous' Jordan Family who opened 'Chic's Burgers' in 1954 on Jefferson Street across from the high school administrative offices.

Pat went on to earn a Bachelor's degree and teaching credential from San Francisco State University.  She taught in the Napa Valley Unified School District for 35 years, primarily as a kindergarten teacher at Northwood Elementary School.

Pat and her husband Don were members of the 'Boots and Bells Square Dancing Club' for many years; and also enjoyed playing bocce, traveling to visit their grandchildren, and taking daily walks. Pat loved reading, and was a professional storyteller.  She taught storytelling workshops, and also attended festivals as well as telling stories to children at the Napa County Library.

Pat is survived by her husband of 46 years, Don Krenke; their children Sarah Sharp and Amy Sharp Williams; grandchildren Evan, Brooke, and Luke Williams; and her brothers Tom Jordan and Michael Jordan.

I was so sad to hear about my friend Pat passing.  She and I and JoAnn Marx were 3 pals in 7th grade.  I have added a photo of the 3 of us sitting in our best dresses on my patio table. We spent many lunches sitting on the school lawn laughing and chatting.  My condolences to the family.  I will always remember my buddies.

I remember Pat in some of my classes at high school.  She was very nice. I really enjoyed talking to her.  It sounds like she had a good and  busy life and  had some very close friends.   How wonderful.  My prayers go out to her family and friends.

William 'Bill' Knox, Jr.

My wife Carole and I are very sorry to learn of Pat's passing. I (Bill) knew Pat well as a good friend at Napa High School, and also enjoyed the fact that her parents owned the fabulous Chic's Burgers. Needless to say, I, along with countless Napa High students, was a frequent visitor to Chic's! My wife Carole enjoyed teaching fourth grade at Northwood Elementary for 21 years with Pat and enjoyed their friendship.

We both offer our sincerest condolences to her husband Don and family.

Sincerely,

Bill Knox

Pat was such a nice person... always a smile on her face. I remember seeing Pat and her husband and their

square dance group at the pizza parlor one night! I enjoyed working on both plays she was in. Just seeing the square dance group made me want to join them. She was a terrific person!

I had several  classes with Pat Jordan at Napa High and enjoyed her company. Occasionally, we would have lunch together at Chic's, in the back office, and enjoy a free hamburger, complete with fries and a drink. Everyone there was so welcoming.....

Later in our lives, we both taught for NVUSD and Pat Krenke brought her storytelling skills to my students and to the Napa Valley Reading Association. She was always generous with her time and her talent. In retirement, she continued practicing her outstanding storytelling gifts and also served as an officer in the Napa Valley California Retired Teachers Association, so I was able to see her a couple of times a month.
