Mike and I went to Sunday School together at Perry Heights Church of Christ. He was always an exceptionally handsome guy, funny, and in many ways enviable. I never saw him after DHS graduation in 1970. I knew his first wife, Bonnie, and through her I learned that Mike had developed a real bummer problem with pain medication, and it was hard for me to believe it. I prayed he'd get through it OK, but I always worried about him. I was shocked to hear he'd passed. Hope you're OK, now, Mike.

Sad times when your friends pass. I went to Mikes funeral too. Mike and I and several others were close friends in Band. He was always kind of on the edge but a good friend none the less. I did see Bonnie too Billy, at his funeral. She still has that Million dollar smile. Got to meet his daughter there as well. Mike was a good musician. He helped me many times and I was in a couple of "combo's" with him. Lots of trips in Band and hanging out. I miss you guy. You were my friend.

I knew Mike, his Mom, and his brother Steve. I spent quite a bit of time around them. He was the first person I knew who lived with only a mother in the house. This was so foreign to me at that time. He was really smart, humorous and extememly creative/inquisitive. Mike introduced me to many different types of music. Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Lothar and the Hand People, and many other bands I had not heard of but still listen to today. Even Spirit. Still think of Mike when I listen to "fresh garbage". Ha! Went to his funeral and believe it was early in 1994 and remember seeing Donnie Ingram there. I saw his wife Gayle Waters at the wedding. Back during our senior or junior year Mike, Dale Bates, and myself went to Gatlinburg and met a large group of youth from a church in Lebanon. I had no idea that later in life Gayle and Mike had found each other and married. She and Steve both said that Mike was happy and succumed to liver disease. Nice guy, nice family, and really nice memories. Rock on Mike!

Barry, thanks for the update. It helps to know he had found happiness.
