Larry & Carolyn Holly's grandson, Johnny Elmore "Beau" McMahan IV, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout last night, 27 Dec 2011, in a Court of Honor in Beaumont, TX. This is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America and must be completed before reaching 18 years of age. It is a significant achievement that follows a young man throughout his life. Very few Scouts actually reach that rank. As I understand it, this accomplishment will get you into Texas A&M. By the way, anyone know what you call an Aggie five years after graduation? :) "Boss"!

An internet search reveals that less than 2% of all Scouts achieve Eagle rank.
