Robert "Bob" Luther Methvin

 

Robert "Bob" Luther Methvin, age 67, of Natchitoches, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Christus Schumpert Highland in Shreveport. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, in Natchitoches, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, August 8, 2011. The funeral service will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Chapel at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2011, with Fr. James Foster officiating. Interment will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.

 

"Bob" was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was the middle child of fourteen, and always felt that he had everything he needed. He was a wonderful provider, a great friend, and hard worker. He loved the little things in life, such as LSU football, good food, and squirrels eating the corn in his yard. He was a simple and hardworking man, had a great wit and sense of humor, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

 

He was the preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe Methvin and Clotile Grappe Methvin; one brother, Sonny Methvin.

 

He is survived by his loving wife Leslie Methvin; one daughter, Allison Lofton and husband James; three sons, Chris Methvin, Clint Methvin, and Kyle Methvin; two grandsons, Aidan Lofton and Gavin Lofton; five sisters, Adrene McKnight, Joyce Ann McLanahan, Linda Dowden, Millie Marquess, and Mary Crayon; and seven brothers, Kenneth Methvin, Daniel Methvin, William Methvin, Donald Methvin, Ronald Methvin, Michael Methvin, and Patrick Methvin.

 

Pallbearers will be Jason Methvin, Gerard Methvin, Chad Methvin, Trent Methvin, Erik Eliasson, and James Lofton.
