Obituary for Glenda, Natchitoches Times, Thursday, September 13, 1979:
Funeral services for Glenda Durr Covey, 35, of Radford, VA., were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Beulah Cemetery near Marthaville.
She died last Wednesday in Charleston, West Virginia, as the result of injuries suffered in an auto accident.
Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Durr of Natchitoches; three brothers, Kerry Durr and Wayne Durr, both of Lake Charles, and Don Durr of Shreveport; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Beulah Adcock of Texarkana, Texas.
Pallbearers were James A. Durr, David Box, George Brown, Malcolm Wldon, James Dodd, and Sam Masson.

Glenda Durr died on September 13, 1979. She was working for a lawyer and was delivering some papers to a client and was hit head on by a truck. I have so many fond memories of Glenda, as she was my best friend in high school. I especially remember her on her birthday, St. Patrick's Day.
We kept in contact up until her death. When she would come home for Christrmas, I would always make a trip to Natchitoches and spend some time with her. We corresponded for years. Glenda never had any children. She was married twice and was engaged to be married a third time.
I'll always remember the good times we had. That's what best friends do!
