Essie Mae was born May 4, 1943 and died September 17, 1987, from Diabetes.  She is buried in Fern Park Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Essie Mae Cedars were held Saturday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with the Rev. James Whitehead officiating.  Burial was in Fern Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Cedars, 44, of Natchitoches, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport.

She was a native of Natchitoches and a member of Fountain of Life United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Cedars of Natchitoches; four daughters, Diane Cedars of Dallas, Texas, and Vanna Cedars, Ginger Cedars and Zina Cedars, all of Natchitoches; one sister, Mrs. Shelly DeDon of Cypress; five brothers, Joseph Edwards Jr., David Edwards and Mike Edwards, all of Natchitoches, Roy Edwards of Cypress and Marion Ray Edwards of Empire; her mother, Mrs. Viola Edwards of Cypress; and three grandchildren.
