Ronald “Ron” Robert Shirley

Graveside service for Mr. Ronald “Ron” Robert Shirley will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Cypress Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Dodson, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 am until 12 noon on Monday, January 4th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.

Ron, 75 years of age and a resident of Winnfield, passed away on December 31,2020.  He was born on March 13, 1945 to Robert William Shirley and Vera Marie Ammons Shirley in Leesville, LA.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Vaughn Robert Shirley.

Ron proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his wife, his kids and his grand babies. He also loved to travel and laugh, he was often the life of the party!

He is survived by his wife, Odene Edwards Shirley; sons, Darius Dean Shirley and his wife Nicke of Weston, LA, Richard Ryan Shirley and his wife Jamie of Provencal, LA, Jimmy Berry, Sr. and his wife Donnetta of Gilbert, LA; daughter-in-law, Karen Shirley of Natchitoches, LA; daughters, Tabatha Bowden Wynn and her husband Billy of Shreveport, LA, Theresa Williamson and her husband Stoney of Clarksville, TN, Patricia Hartong and her husband Steve of Amite, LA, Kimberly Oehler and her husband Tony of Winnfield, LA; as well as 27 grandkids, and 32 great grandkids, and sisters,Janet Cannon and her husband Tommy of Leesville, LA and Beverly Bosarge of  Greenwood, SC.

Thoses honored to serve as pallbearers include Timothy Shirley, Warren Shirley, Kaden Shirley, Skyler Shirley, Tony Oehler, Shawn Oehler, Jeff Scaife, Gavin Adcock, and Anthony Shirley. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Shirley, David Shirley, Terry Shirley, Terry Blakeslee and Jimmy Berry.
