Larry Donald Bucknum, 61, of Shreveport passed away early Sunday Morning, March 11, 2007, at Willis Knighton North after a brief illness.

Larry was born on June 1, 1945 in Topeka, KS, son of the late Donald Lawrence Bucknum and Vivian V. Bucknum. He was a retired instrument technician for Aleska Pipeline Service Company, having had jobs that afforded him to live and travel in many places including Argentina, Saudi Arabia, and Alaska. He most recently managed B & M Professional Cleaning in Shreveport.

Larry was  a loving husband and father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by the family he deeply cherished; his wife of 41 years Pauline Virginia Stephens Bucknum, his son Kevin Bucknum, and his wife Carole of Covington, LA; his daughter, Tonya Hannigan and husband Russell of Everett Washington; one sister Carole Vienne and husband Francis of Natchitoches; one brother-in-law, Frank Stephens, and his wife Jackie of Stonewall; his four grandchildren, Russell Charles III, Lilian Grace, and Cora Rose Reily Hannigan, and Brian Lawrence Bucknum; and a host of nieces and nephews all of whom he held dear.

Larry enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing, but most especially he enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing with his grandchildren.

He will be remembered lovingly by family and friends for his quiet gentle spirit that walked softly through their lives.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Marshall Street. Officiating will be Rev. Harold Christensen of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Shreveport. The family will receive friends and family prior to the memorial service beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Larry was a good member of the Friends of Bill W. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity of choice.
