Ray was our best man when Lu and I married and He really surprised and made me laugh for awhile when he picked me up to take me to the church and showed me a couple of tickets he had purchased for a Red Sox game, that day. I knew Ray all the way thru high school and if there was a way to make people feel good and laugh Ray knew it. When we decided to go to the reunion it was my main desire to see and thank Ray for all the pleasant memories. It seems so unfair that we lose the good people so soon. Rest In Peace my friend.
What a shock to learn that my friend Ray passed away. He was instumental in the forming of the "Melody Kings" dance band at Needham High. We played many local dances, appeared on WBZ TV talent show "Community auditions", and won the Mansfield Jazz Festival. Those days will be sorely missed, as will Ray Baszner.
