Donna was happy-go-lucky type of person. She was also a person with a good heart , eagernous and enthusiasm is how I remember her. She liked action. Sadness fills my heart to hear of your demise. May you Rest in Peace.
From The Mountaineer, LVR's Yearbook of 1964, this is the write-up about Donna, under her photo, Page 48.:
(If I may quote)
"Donna Bozak--Soccer is Donna's first choice in sports, and she dislikes nothing more than to see it replaced by grass hockey. Baby sitting takes up much of her spare time. Her future plans are undecided."
In the 1962 Mountaineer, Donna played full-back on the School's Soccer Rep. "As soccer has been discontinued for girls in the West Kootenay area and replaced by Grass Hockey, L. V. Rogers trophy cabinet has become the permanent home of the Canadian Bank of Commerce trophy." (From the Sports section, no page number.)
"The girl's Soccer Rep with the able coaching of Mr. Taylor, won the West Kootenay Soccer Tournament by beating the Castlegar girls in the final game." (Read more under Girls Soccer Rep, in Sports section.)
My how times have changed. Today, boys and girls play soccer on the same team. Unfortunately for Donna, when soccer ended, so did her sports involvement in LVR.
May the Angels provide you with a Girls Soccer Team up above, Donna!
