I remember when Heidi moved to Nelson from Trail........she was the talk of the school, so pretty, so cool.
We became close friends after we were both married and had kids......lived in the same neighborhood, had a coffee group, talked each other through many tough times and I still miss her. She was a good friend.
Heidi was the first classmate that I met in Mr. Bunt's Gr. 9 homeroom class at Trafalger Jr. High School in January, 1961, when I first moved to Nelson from the U. S. A.. She gave me a warm welcome, something that I really needed moving to a new (to me) country. I really appreciated her warmth and guidance. Schools in Canada were, at least at that time, far different from schools in the U. S. A.. Different curriculum, customs, culture amongst the many differences between the two countries. A huge change and adjustment for me. Thanks Heidi for your warmth and guidance!
I became reaquainted with Heidi for a brief period between about 2004 & 2006 when we both attended the same Cancer Support Group in Vernon. Unfortunately, Heidi lost her battle with the disease and passed away on Feb., 18, 2007, at age 62 yrs., leaving behind four Children and six Grandshildren, her Mother and her Sister. Her Father had predeceased her.
I have the newspaper clipping from the Obituary column about Heidi's passing. Anyone wishing to have a copy, please let me know and I can mail you a copy or send it by e-mail through this site.
Heidi, may the Angels comfort you with your Grandchildren surrounding you.
So sorry to hear that Heidi has passed away. She was a beautiful happy person. And like Pam said, she was very friendly. I remember her long curly brunette hair - so pretty. Very sad news.
