Dave, you are so right that Gail was a lovely girl and her sudden early demise at 31 was tragic. Gail was a beautiful person inside and out and a very accomplished person at such a young age.
I still have a copy of her obituary and would like to share the following information to show that she is gone but not forgotten.
Gail was sports minister in our LVR student parliament, graduated from UBC with honours with a B.Sc. in nursing and taught nursing at BCIT and Kamloops college. She was active in the NDP and managed Rosemary Brown's campaign for party leadership in the '70's. She passed away suddenly at her home at Pinantan Lake BC on Nov. 5, 1977.
I treasure an afternoon that I spent with Gail in Lakeside Park while visiting friends nearby.
I hope Gail has found the peace she was looking for. <3 Shirley.
Just to add to what Shirley noted above about Gail's life she also, while a student at LVR in 1961-62, was a Jr. Bomberette and was on the school Grass Hockey Team. Not only that, she was in the Honors Club. In 1963-1964 she again was in the Honors Club, Easter 1964, her Grade 12 year.
Although Gail had no children of her own, she involved herself in the education of our children in the early to mid-1970's as Trustee of the Campbell River and District School Board. I recall her attending a Christmas Concert at Rockland Elementary School where our children attended school, and we had a brief conversation afterwards. It was good to see her involvement in the schools.
Reading the write-up under Gail's photo, in the Graduates section Page 51, of The Mountaineer, LVR's Yearbook, 1964, I wish to quote:
"Gail Clark-"Dark hair, sparkling eyes and a mischievous smile." Our busy Minister of Athletics works at Phil's Bakery in her spare time. Next year she intends to study at Notre Dame."
I was saddened by her early death. You are missed Gail. Rest in Peace. May the angels help to comfort you.

Wow, Gail was certainly an amazing and involved person, in addition to being a lovely one.
Thanks Pam for adding to my comments. Shirl.
