Mr. Ross was my Math teacher in Grade 10.  He was a nice man and a good teacher, and  I enjoyed his classes. He also was a jovial person.  He was a very positive influence for me during my school days, which carried over into my adulthood.

Rest in Peace Mr. Ross.

May the Angels shower you with stars from above!

I have a .GIF scan of an obit which gives some details of his unfortunate demise.  EMail me if you would like a copy.

P.S.

I have uploaded the .GIF as the last "photo" on my profile.

Not quite sure of the year but I had one of those old Sportsmans map of the Kootenays and there was a lake , called Quo lake that Clearwater Creek runs out of so one Saturday a few of us along with Mr Ross drove up to the end of the old logging road  and climbed up the mountain until we were overlooking the lake. We could see it was still iced over so there was no point going down to it. The climb down almost the same distance as the climb up. We also realized that we were all standing on this amazing cornice and got back off it real quick.

So after eating our lunches we headed back down the mountain. 12 or 13 years of schooling and 2 years of college I never had a teacher say well, " lets go do that, lets see if we can get into that lake." Not even sure who all went along on that trip but sitting here thinking of Mr Ross going up that mountain makes me realize that my entire secondary education experiences would have been a little more enjoyable with a few more teachers like Mr Ross. Rest in Peace.
