We went on an Alaskan cruise a few years ago with our extended family. Personally, I wouldn't have chosen to go on the cruise in the first place and I wouldn't choose to ever go on one again. Perhaps it had a lot to do with the lack of warm weather. We stopped in several ports but never had enough time to really see and enjoy the places. On board it was always mealtime of some kind or another. I'm sure some people liked the food, but I couldn't find anything I really wanted to eat. As far as I know, no one got sick on the cruise or fell overboard, although many of us were sick and tired of being on the cruise and considered jumping overboard.

Murphy -

Next time you're coming to DC, let me know. 20 minutes away.

Based on a recent photo I've seen, I'd like to hang out with you man!

No kidding, Ninja. Jumping does seem like a better alternative. My parents tried to bribe me once with an Alaskan cruise family trip. No offense to the eskimos, but I can't see the point to a cruise, much less a cruise to Alaska! To me vacation means sunshine, scuba, eye-candy on the beach and drinks with little umbrellas in them.

I think it is time for new contest (not the Contest that I keep going out of everyday / Sometimes 2x a day). This contest is a challenge to all the classmates currently on this site to find and recruit classmates not already on this site to join up/sign in or otherwise be found. By the looks of the classmate profile, we are still missing many classmates. It is a shame that they are missing out on all this charming conversation (with Murf's drunken rants included). My contest idea is that we put a bounty out on all unregistered classmates. The person that recruits/finds the most classmates will win some sort of prize (like a night out with Jeff, giftcard or simple cash). Any ideas please let me know.

I think thats a great idea - but I'm not sure how many of us can handle a night out with Jeff - although it would probably be fun!!!

KRIS... thanks for the well wishes but i made it home already...

THOMPSON... i knew that but i didnt have any time or energy to do anything fun... had a super early day today too... (and that pic will remain off of the site!)

TRACEY... you could SOOOO handle a night out with me... i would take it easy on you, i promise...

JOEY... love the challenge of finding classmates... i was dating a nwa flight attendent and she was supposed to look up linda smith for me. but instead, told me to go f myself... it was actually carl who started the trouble... actually it was tina huff! we were at blackfin and she made a comment about a girls (things)... i looked... and then became "the guy who couldnt sit with a girl without looking at other girls (things)" downhill from there...

who wants to go out this weekend in ro? i have friday and saturday nights free this week.

I may be in RO after work on Friday. I'm not sure I'll have enough time to get my liver in good enough shape before then to be able to handle a night of "ugh".

HOLIDAY EATING TIPS

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare.. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an
eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while
carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

Have a great holiday season everyone!!

Can you solve this puzzle?

You are riding on a beautiful white horse.
On your left side is a drop off.
On your right side are several ostriches being chased by
a lion.
In front of you are four large gazelles that won't get
out of your way.

And you can't seem to overtake them.
Behind you is a stampede of horses.
What must you do to get out of this highly
dangerous situation?

Hey Heidi,

We went on a cruise 2 years ago in Nov. Weather did not cooperate (was not above 65 no sun whatsover). People were nice and it was nice not to have to worry about driving if you wanted to have a few. I think if you go in the winter/spring you may have better luck. I think you should try everything once. I say go for it! Reuinion was lots of fun. Dean Corrion wore all the girls out (you know what I mean) and all those 80's songs made me feel like I was in a time warp.I was glad everyone was well hope you all have a good holiday!

80's songs.....time warp.....?! You make it sound like those songs haven't been around for an age. If that is true then I guess I'm still in the 'warp' because I still listen to 80's music and have a decent collection including some not-so-common stuff (anyone remember Kidd Video by the way...).

Carl,

I am beginning to hate the alert on the Home Page. It is obvious that everyone turn the feature off. Either that or no one is ever in the site (which is hard to believe). Most of the time that I'm in I am the only name that shows up.

Come on you lurkers. Quit hiding.

Better yet, Turn off the hide option
