Most memorable moment I'd have to say is the day we found we were having twins. Yes, a kid moment, but a day I'll never forget. Of course, I can attribute my incredibly significant memory loss since their birth to my crazy little boys who keep our home in a constant state of chaos.

Funnest moment....riding to ABHS in the Schirocco (sp) with Putt in the backseat, and INXS on the radio! Joe was a money driver!

joey
great question and hard to answer.

my brain is so shot, i can't remember much. the only curse of being a mom, memory loss.

memorable: carl asking me to skate a slow song (snowball) and my wheels fall off. perfect.

funniest: trying to back my camper out of a lot. no skill going backward. we were laughing so hard, i ended up doing a lawn job. good times. you had to be there.

OK, My memories by Age/Grade

2nd Grade - Moving to New Baltimore

5th Grade - Being in West Side Story. Make-out party at Dave Palmer's house with 6th grade girls

7th Grade - Going over Mike Thompson's house every day after school playing (or more accurately getting killed playing) basketball and calling girls (I think I was hot for Jennifer Welchner among many others).

8th Grade - Wearing sweat pants to school every day (slob). Getting to go to the midnight skate at Skateloft (Cuz Jeff Murphy's Mom would pick us up). Jeff spilling a whole Jumbo Coke down his pants (early in the night).Meeting my new preppie friend Steve Lapinsky. Parties at Pesta's

9th Grade - Freshman Basketball and Baseball. (Being hung over before a double header baseball game hoping that Jeff would start in center the first game and I would be benched. eating 25 Sausage links at the all-you can-eat buffet at Big Boy and getting the under 12 rate. Parties at Pesta's

10th Grade - Mr Domaggio (sp) telling all of us on the basketball team that "All you care about is looking cool". Theuts getting their licenses and become my personal Al Cowlings (Thanks). Parties at Pesta's

11th Grade - Crashing my Moms car. Laughing at all-night poker games at Murphy's house. Parties at Pesta's

12th Grade - Watching John Peck bowl a 298. Spring Break. Graduation - Parties at Pesta's

College years - Drove to Eastern, Oakland, Central and Ferris in one Weekend (Parties). Summers - Working multiple Jobs Day and Night, then going out on Thuets boat (Late night). A twelve day stretch averaging less than 4 hours sleep a night. Meeting my Wife. Getting a job in California 4 1/2 months before graduating and having a hard time concentrating after that.

Post College - See my profile - And the Reunion!!

That should cover it. Except the funniest moment I can remember is when that kid fell through the ice (in a ditch)in Jr. high and Jeff and I were the only ones who saw it.

Carl Pesta (M Pesta)

Greatest moment, asking Kris to skate, her wheels fall off, and I land on top of her...or did I dream that part??

I wonder if I'll be able to host the parties for my kids when they grow up? A little tougher to get away with that type of stuff these days. Who's going to allow that at their house?

Congrats Jason!

My most memorable moments come from my deployment to Afghanistan.

1) Going on a mission to Kabul to check the water quality in the presidential palace and residence. It was cool except for all of the big, mean looking Afghans in suits holding guns and watching me like a hawk.

2) Taking a ground convoy from Bagram to Bamian and traveling 130km in 34 hours due to horrible roads, snow, and the Shiber pass being closed. It was surreal (see picture in my profile) sitting at over 12,000 feet waiting for guys with shovels to open the road. Once we arrived we got to see where the giant stone Buddha used to be before the Taliban destroyed it with tanks and artillery.

It seems the funniest moments involve my 4 year old son saying or doing something that just cracks my wife and me up.

Congrats Jason! Getting married on Valentine's Day! Very cool!

Speaking of Valentine's Day...Happy Birthday Jeff!

Favorite (cuz I can recall them still) moments for me...

Jr. High:
Meeting Carl for the first time. We were on the bus and he was impressing us with his ability to turn his eyelids inside out. Awesome...

Sleep overs with the girls...talking about boys, watching MTV, etc...except that one time we were running around and I broke my toe and then passed out...quite embarassing.

High School:
Mrs. Wilke telling me I was her prize student cuz I pulled my grades out of the gutter in Calc. Yay me.

Mr. Abel casting me in the school plays. I was so shy I thought I'd throw up every night, but I loved it.

Mrs. Weinbeck taking pity on me and letting me join poms.

Any time Jeff Murphy or Mike Theut would talk to me.

Shoulder rubs from Mike Walters in Physics.

Parties at Carl's.

College:
Getting into MSU!

Parties at Carl's.

Getting out of MSU!!

Post College:
Trip to Fiji.

Reunions!

Moving to New Orleans....come see me!

Christine Meldrum (Babisch)

Congrats Jason!!! Hope your day turns out beautiful!!!

Rai Ann- I have been to Cummberland myself on the house boat trip and I concurr that those were really good times!!! I was there one year and a guy was dragging himself in the water off the back of a jet ski and a boat backed into him and schredded his foot. This happened at the famous FALLS!! That same year, I mooned what I later found out was my sister-in-laws brothers across the way. NICE!! I think that was in 96-97 or 98.

I remember Carl flipping his eyelids too-nice one. To answer your question about having teenagers party at my house-NO FRICKIN WAY!!!

I have lots of crazy, fun moments. That's my job to entertain everyone. :)

Lisa,

I loved being your brother-in-law in "Our Town". To bad I had to die. Oh yeah, you died to (sorry).

Lisa Miller (Shedlock)

Good one Joey. I think we all died....must have been something in the water in "our town".

Mary Franks

Hey ya'll! I haven't been here in forever it seems!! Glad to see everyone is still posting. I'm sorry I slacked off...loser! ha!
Jason - congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I'm jealous I wasn't at all the parties at the Pesta's!!?? I remember being there maybe twice. ha! Ah well, I wasn't cool. haha!
Raquel, (or should I say Ms. Barrios?!) are you sure your best moment wasn't going to Mexico with me?? LOL! I have a picture of us in some really cool 80's bathing suits!!! hahaha!

02/13/09 09:26 PM #1910

Mary Franks

Rai! I've been to Lake Cumberland too! That was our summer trip for about 5 years! Great times! I recommend everyone go! We had the 77 footer when it was brand new. Now there's a boat over 80ft I guess. Time to go again!

02/14/09 10:35 PM #1911

Raequel Olcese (Tomsich)

Happy Birthday Jeff. I am sure you are out celebrating.

Mary, actually, our Mexico trip was one of the more memorable events in high school.

And of course play practices were always fun and memorable. Anyone remember who was behind the pranks in "Stage Door" like putting pasting pictures of naked men in the prop magazines and then flashing me one on stage during one scene? Lisa M., was that you?? And Mr. Abell reciting "The Raven" each year.

And I am with Chris, most of my most memorable happiest moments involve my kids.

Happy Hearts Dat everyone!

Good Question Joey-

Most memorable moments:
1. Last day of my son's chemo treatments!!!!

2. Just about anyday at MSU - loved it there!!

3. First day of my "real job" after grad school

4. Throwing up while dancing with Joey in the dance competition in high school - this was by no means a reflection of Joey's dancing talents!!

5. Swimming with the dolphins in Mexico

Congrats Jason on your wedding!

We are bracing for hopefully the last winter storm here in Michigan. Lisa, have a blast at Mardi Gras!

02/21/09 01:06 PM #1913

Michael Bellhorn

hey highlife I hope you have good weather and a good time at Mardi Gras. I have to make it down that way one day even if not for MG. It looks like a lot of fun and a lot of great food. I enjoy watchin all the food shows(food network, top chef, etc.)when they are there. Maybe we should have a reunion down there, whaat do ya think highlife?

02/21/09 01:17 PM #1914

well joe I have never been married and dont have any kids that I am aware of so it would have to be a scarey moment and one that I am thankful for not getting hurt.
I was working on some switch gear and the buss was hot (480v) As I was finishing up what I was doing some bare wires that were not secured well flopped against two phases of the bus and blew up. Thank God I was wearing safety protection and was sitting on the ground. The orange ball of explosion went above my head. It did throw me back and I really saw fireworks. It was rite after 4th of July and I was working alot and didn't see any fireworks that year. That was my fireworks. I would rather go to a display or get some fireworks from a hot kiss from now on though

02/22/09 08:44 AM #1915

Wendy Corneille (Lincoln)

Thank God you weren't hurt Mike! It sounds like a miracle how it happened and you were fine. My Dad was an electrician until he retired at 55. I always worried about him! He loved it though, he still loves tinkering with stuff!

02/22/09 11:34 AM #1916

Kristine Boggess (Wargo)

thanks for your response carl. you were always easy on people in tough situations.

any how, parties like the pesta's with my two daughters. there is no way in creation.

no blankets at the fires, no coolers behind the bushes, no kisses on the back porch. just high parent involvment with binoculars and whistles.

the pesta parties were a great learning tool for us. and boy they were great. loved school.

another memorable moment. murph we talked about this. jeff ditches me, asks me for a kiss, and like an ass i give it to him. this was at a pesta party. brenda with big boobs was there and that was jeff's new target. good job jeffy!

Joey

Funniest moment has to be Mr. Bell (Algebra teacher) absolutely loosing his mind because Perkins, Delisi and myself were talking during his lesson. He proceeded to scream "Shut Up" while spit was shooting out his mouth. He also added a nice touch by throwing a chair across the room. I thought I was going to pee my pants. Ohhh the joys of Algebra. Good Question by the way.

02/28/09 12:23 PM #1918

Michael Bellhorn

Good ol Murney Bell. I remember pissing him off a few times. I think me, murph, ringel and a few others enjoyed getting him excited every so often. I don't think we made him throw a chair but erasers a few times
