You have to give us a little minute. The hangover is still fresh. Kristi, Tiffany and Kim did awesome job. Mike P modernized the senior slide show. I think they almost everything on the scavenger hunt list. I think Barry S got the most points on that one. Dwayne T was shooting video. They kinda arranged a tribute to our vets and Rachel C sing a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.

Sorry I missed y'all on Saturday. My daughters truly epic dance recital made me not get out to Natural Bridge until 9:30 or so and the locked gates and complete lack of lights out there made me figure that I was in the wrong place. :-(

It was great to see all of y'all. And I hope to see some of you more often now that I'm back in town. My email and phone should be on my profile.

Wow was this a blast from the past. Thanks for letting me participate, seeing as how I left in '86.
I had more fun that I ever thought I would. It was really great to see everyone again and I hope everyone had a safe trip home.

PS Nobody told Robert Smallwood about my teenage crush did they? Well, the girls will know what I am talking about. :)

Greg,

I thought about that option but A) I wasn't 100% sure I was at the right location since there were NO FREAKIN LIGHTS and B) in through the out door == severe tire damage. :-)

I need to get people's phone numbers for next time.

Hey man I emailed those pics to your gmail acct, so I expect them up within the next 5 minutes.

Also gotta give a kudos to Rachel for her awe inspiring vocalization of our National Anthem. And a Thank You to Mike McFarland (who did a HECK of a lot of shopping) and all who contributed to the Care Package being sent overseas to our troops. HooAhhh!!!

If you haven't contributed yet..... we could probably still use some cash to help cover shipping....... Hint hint..

Jimmy is gonn be here hopefully for a month. We have his adress in Kuwait. We will send the care packages at the end of Sept. Jimmy will forward it to the apprpriate people and they will help distribute it to the troops in Kuwait and Iraq. If you would like to still donate its not too late

Michael - what's the scoop for those who were suffering already from old-timers disease and forgot to bring something for Jimmy? Do we donate moo-la online, or do we drop off items somewhere?

Thanks to everyone who helped put the reunion on, from food, to gathering places, and all events over the weekend. I know it took a lot of time (and money), and I for one appreciate it. I'm so glad that I decided to attend and regret that I missed out on the 5yr and 10yr gatherings. It's been great reading all the posts and catching up with everyone.

I really hope you all have a blessed rest of the year at Thanksgiving and Christmas with your families. Stay safe, and keep in touch!

Sincerely,
Becky Dowda

For those that did not bring anything to the reunion and would like to donate something to be included in the care package to the troops there are a couple of options. You can get a hold of Mike McFarland in NB for dry goods donations (snack type foods, cards, dominos, handi wipes/baby wipes in small packages, travel size toiletry items, ziplock bags, even a letter or 2 if you want...... use your imagination just keep it small and portable) or you can send a check or postal money order either to Mike or me to purchase more goods and to help cover postage. We will be shipping everything to Major Murphy's APO after he gets back to the sandbox to have distro'd as they see fit to the troops. Any and ALL funds collected WILL go to funding this project for our troops. I don't know if anyone really paid any attention to the box that was at the reunion but it was a pretty large box. When I got there it had a few items in it. THEN Mike shows up and it's overflowing with stuff. Mike deserves a huge thank you from all of us for representing our class and going the extra mile in his enthusiasm with this project.

If you would like to donate money we still may have to pay for shipping. I am going to try to see if I can get that donated, but no guarantees. I work for Fedex Freight and I will try to talk to the Regional Vice President tommorrow. What ever moneys are left over we will go buy more items for the troops. Got some excellent ideas from Russell, Greg, and Jimmy. If you prefer to send money you can send it to Kristi or send it to me at my adress and put Kristi's name on it my adress is 1248 Rivercrest, New Braunfels, Tx. 78130 and I will forward it to her. If you like you can put my name on it or send it to Greg J. I will do all the leg work I can on this one, I think Kristi has worked hard enough, she will just be the money person. The adress I have listed is actually my parents house, I actually live in the country. I visit them frequently and pick up my mail from there. If you are in the area call me and I will meet you if you prefer to buy the items yourself. 830-708-1479 Try to stay away from things that melt(chocolate). You can also go to oidelivers.com scroll down and click on items for a list. I talked to Kristi and she said we may have enough for shipping. If I get it donated we will she will use some of the unused funds for items on the list. LETTER WORK ALSO. These people are a million miles from home, anything from the civilized world is appreciated. Keep in mind it may be a male or female recieving the items. I think I would stay away from gender spacific stuff.

Jimmy mentioned that they could use dental stuff, so count me in on a ton of dental products----toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, mouthwash(small bottles--is there a limit on the size?--I can get 3 oz bottles), I will also get several boxes of the individual hand wipes--they come 100/box.

I just sent out an email to everyone with a recap of the event as well as the info on how to access a Walgreen's account so we can share and order each others photos.

Thanks again for such great participation. Hope you all had a good time!

From what I have read travel size is the best on what ever you buy. Things like Jerky should prefferibly be individually wrapped. I you do purchase something, make it something that you yourself would use. Buy 10 good some thing vs. 30 cheapy something that you wouldn't even use yourself, but don't think that it has to be expensive either. Things like protien bars and small packets of drink mixes. The list is enormiss and the only limit is your imagination

There were a couple of items left on the "antique" table. Someone forgot their senior shirt and a small photo album (I am guessing the album belongs to either Rachel or Veronica) Just let me know so I can return your goods.

Correction, the site for ideas is oidelivers.org. If you chose to you may also donate though them. We are not selfish here, it's all going to the same place. 0urs just has a personal touch. Just remember they are on a long term camping trip in the desert. Sunburn, dry skin, chapped lips, and atheletes foot are some of the things they deal with every day.
