Yep, I agree. In another 20 years I will have to plug in my brain too - Whats left of it any way.

You know I've been compared to a cockroach a few times, they may even be a higher form of life than I am. But I always strive for greatness............... And by the way the 5 gallon buckets of water were so much more fun than the paper targets.

so are we like the ones that stick around after the lights are off and the doors are locked that the janitor sweeps around? Greg you sound like you haven't sobered up yet. lol

now i know how i got that bruise that looked like a broom, gonna have to talk to that janitor, i knew it couldnt be from my ar-15 yesterday, it wouldnt be that mean. hey pam whats the hubby been up to since being off the trk.

Greg John

Pam I'll have you know that I've been sober now for the past 6 hours. Though that streak may come to an end soon. :-D

John Gueldner

I know the AR-15 had nothing to do with it. Ar-15's don't bruise people. . . . . . .

Sober for 6 hours, that must have been a rough period in your life Greg. Good luck getting through that. I have found blowing big holes in paper to be very good therapy. I think Mikey one upped us and went out to the range today.

Has anyone heard from any of our classmates in Houston? I'm 15 miles west of I45 where Hurricane Ike travelled. Fortunately our damages were minimal, but the coastline took a major hit. I hope everyone is okay.

Did the shipment to the troops get to them?

I gave Mike the Murph's addy last week so it's either left the PO or getting ready to get there.

I haven't heard from anyone in Houston but I was down there Thursday on the NW side and that portion had power and didn't look bad at all. I think the East side got hammered. My bro lives in Spring just North of Hou and they were still w/o power as of yesterday.

I have been talking to Tom V. He, Aimee and the kids are fine. They rode out the storm and then stuck around to help the neighbors. Lots of trees down and such. They got power back late last week and heading out to re-stock the fridge.

That is all I know but I will let him know to touch base here and tell his tales o' the storm.

Late,
shayner

Hey everyone,
I didn't know people were still using this site. I will let you know when the care packages arrive. I know the Soldiers here will appreciate it. Thanks.

I don't know about "using" the site........... But sometimes people tend to ramble on it.

Hello everyone,
Wanted to let ya'll know the area I live in, 45N going toward the Woodlands (Spring) as of today we are still without power or running water. We had very little damage at our house. Our fence in our back yard has fallen just a little bit, lots of trees down everywhere in our subdivision. Other then that were doing okay. I've heard from different places that we may get power back on Thursday, Sept. 25, then I heard it won't be until Sunday, Sept. 28 or even later then that. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be much sooner then that.

Glad to hear people in Houston are doing OK. I passed around the north side on Sunday going to Lufkin, then Arkansas on Monday morning. Went up 59 through Cleveland to Arkansas, most of the trip north looked rough as far as damage I saw while screaming through there, but LOTS of people without power all along the way. Lots of trees down and roofs torn off or trees that went through roofs most of the way to AR. Hope you guys get your power back soon.

And now I am still in Arkansas where everything closes at 7:30 and this damn town is dry. There should be some mandatory warning of crap like this along the highways and a last ditch beer joint weel marked. hoping to get parolled tomorrow. Can't wait to get back to TX.

Damn, Greg was right about the rambling.

One of my employees works from home and lives in Deer Park, just outside of Houston. He finally got all of his utilities restored yesterday. It is a damn good thing, we sure have been missing him.

What can ya do though, can't fire him for not showing for work right?

Freakin acts of nature are such a nuissance!!

Peace!

I sent all the stuff we had to Jimmy Tues. I was a bit of a learning curve trying to figure how and how much. Kristi is going to send the rest she got with the rest of the donations. We were waiting for Jimmy to arrive back in Kuwait. On a different note. There is a serious issue that is before the US the will effect us all. Whether or not you agree or don't agree with the bail out you should educate yourself on this matter and voice your opion. You can go to www.daveramsey.com and find one opion on the bail out as well as links to your congessional leaders. I myself am against Bush giving Paulson cart blanch control over this countries finances, and them putting us 300,000 dollars in debt for every taxpaying citizen. This issue will effect your everday life. How you choose to handle it is your choice.

oh by the way, don't purely base you opion on what you hear in the media. The sky isn't falling and the world will not end tommarrow. This is also not the time for the ignorance of blind party affiliation either. You should decide on your point of view yourself based on as much education as you can cram in in and voice your opion as a taxpaying American.

Mike, David is fine he stopped driving due to his eyes and not a min to soon. He got up to 550lbs and has lost almost 250 of it since he stopped. He is the big bald guy in the pics watching everyone and looking board. He is an assist manager for Taco Bell and is being bumped up the line for his own store poss in next couple months. I think it's pretty kewl from trucker to manager. Big change but he is doing great.
Veronica I'm glad to hear You are ok. Jimmy, glad you made it back Ok. Wish our fams could have gotten together.
My nephew Brandon was suppose to get his P.E.T. scan to see if he is cancer free but first the machine broke and now he has shingles and can't test. plz keep praying for him On a good note for him, his band at Olathe high 5A school in Ks goes to national competitions in New York and the director picked one of Brandons songs to arrange to perform for competition. The boy is tallented.
If you can't tell I'm bored I'm driving from Salt Lake City, Utah back to New Braunfels by myself. I am going through Albequerque and El Paso. Feel free to call me and keep me company or meet up w me along the way. I have 1278 miles to go and plan to be home Friday night pulling a trailor.
Best wishes and prayers to everyone traveling, Jimmy and the hurricane area.

Rachel Caballero (Forberger)

Maybe I'm being a little sensitive but HEY! I went through... believe it or not - 3 hurricanes in one season and no one bothered to ask about me! I don't know if anyone even knew if I was in Florida. I'm not mad, I'm just kidding... I did go through them and it totally sucked and was incredibly scary but our house is made well and if any others come at a Category 4 or higher- we're getting the heck out! Glad to hear Houston fared pretty good and the power being out is horrible but it's not the end of the world as long as your house is still standing. You "guys" all sound like a lot of fun- glad to hear you kept in touch are such good friends to each other.. makes me wish I had not left Texas but things are pretty good here and except for the hurricanes, Florida is pretty darn nice (except for the lack of good Tex-Mex food and the melting pot of cultures you have to deal with here). Take care all of you and see you at our 25th? if we have one and Kristi isn't still paying off our 20th!

"You "guys" all sound like a lot of fun"

I am absolutely no fun. Just ask any of the other "guys" uh people here :-D=
A stick in the mud party pooper. yep, that's what I am

and I don't do harrycains that's why I live where I do. the coast is purty and all to visit but them blasted storms are enough to keep me away

10/02/08 09:18 PM #335

John Gueldner

I can vouch for Greg. He is an old stick in the mud.

We are glad to hear that you fared well through the storms Rachel. When Ike headed our way all the news in the state focused on the total destruction of us and we really did not get much other news it seemed. As it turns out we got nada from the storm, not so much as a rain shower. East TX took a good beating though. You can get away from the hurricanes and move back here to what is starting to be a mosquito infested dust bowl. I can't imagine what water they are living in, maybe they have learned to do without. Keep in touch.

I checked on you. I worry about those big ole alligators in the canals by your house visiting you. I've seen those things swimming out there. Between the hurricanes, alligators and incredible humidity, I think I will stay here and write and call you, maybe be a lobster on south beach every once in while again :p

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to let you know two boxes arrived over here in Kuwait. Thanks Mike, Kristi and everybody that helped out. There was a lot of stuff in there, almost threw my back out picking them up. The troops over here really appreciate it, and I do too. I will try to post a couple pictures on the website later this week of all the stuff. Thanks again and have a Happy Halloween.

Jimmy

No damage, but 15 days without power is not fun. :)

James,

Well you better start doing those ab workouts because a second round will be on its way shortly. I should be recieving the portion of my donations that I ordered on Thursday and will then send it out. Not to mention Dee graciously sent a check for $150 in honor of the troops. Kim had also purchased several things for the reunion for the Scavenger Hunt, but rather than me reimbursing her she wanted to donate $50 to the boys! If you send a picture to my email address I will send out an email to the whole group so those that do not check the site can still see the pictures.

Sorry I have not been on in a while---I had to take a big ole' nap! (Not to mention our software conversion at work went and is still going really bad)---know any good IT reps looking for a job?

I saw Tom and Amee at the Comal County Fair Parade and they are doing great. Sounds like Houston needs a new fencing company---everyone I know lost their fence.

Yes, I too can ramble with the best of them.

Willie---when are you coming to town? Wurstfest? Let me know and I will post. Yes, I am back and will refresh our website.

P.S. Thank you so much Rob and Randy---Tiffany and I really enjoyed our day at the spa!
