Pat Dezi, our class communicator, received a message from Joey Gerace's wife Elista, that Joey passed away in Florida on March 29, 2022 from prostate cancer.  As, per his wishes, he wanted to be "awake" for his wake, so tons of people flew in from Connecticut and California in February for his wake surprise.  While there, they painted his house, cooked all his favorite foods, and he loved every minute of it.  He was so happy to see everyone and he was still relatively doing okay at the time.
