Thomas Arnold

Thomas Alexander Arnold, 57, of Norwalk passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 10, at his home.

Born in Camden, S.C., on Dec. 18, 1955, Tommy spent his first six years living in Durban, South Africa, while his father managed an oil refinery there. The family subsequently settled in New Canaan, where he played baseball, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from New Canaan High School in the Class of 1974.

Tommy spent most of his career running his landscape company in the New Canaan area. Aside from his horticultural interests, he was an avid reader of fantasy literature, an animal lover and a lifelong fan of the Grateful Dead. He always had a big smile, an easygoing attitude and was quick to laugh. He loved riding around New Canaan on his purple motorcycle.

Tom is survived by his beloved son, Skyler Alexander Arnold of Fairfield and many good friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter A. Arnold and Muriel A. Arnold.

Interment will be private West Street Cemetery in New Canaan. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.

The family is requesting donations in his memory be made to the Pet Animal Welfare Society, 504 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT. 06851 (pawsct.org).
