Classmates,

The planning committee for our 60^th high school reunion met on June 23 at Dave Elders’ home in Rowayton, CT. Those present were Dave, Joe Rucci. Elaine Johnston Douglas, Steve Gravereaux, Helshi Lockwood and Meg McMurray McLean (via Zoom). Also on the committee are Andrea Cousins, Barbara Tiani Lapolla, and Skip Raymond.

SAVE THE DATE

We have some preliminary plans in place and need your feedback on whether or not you would plan to attend. The dates are: Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 20, 2019 and will coincide with NCHS Homecoming.

EVENTS

Friday evening we will meet at the Elders’ home in Rowayton for a casual meal and talk fest.  Time to be finalized but likely 6PM.

Saturday will feature the NCHS football game at 1:00 pm. We are looking into other options for those who are not big football fans. Suggestions so far include the New Canaan Historical Society, a tour of Grace Farms renowned River Building architecture, a chat around a bonfire at a classmate’s back yard (would need a volunteer), a New Canaan Nature Center walk. Other input on ideas from you are welcome.

Saturday evening will likely be a casual dinner at Restaurant 123 in Vista New York (formerly The Hearth) and will include a program to catch up with class news.

We expect the cost for eating and tips for two nights to be about $100 per person.

LODGING

We have checked group rates and availability for the Hilton Garden Inn in Norwalk (the same place used for our 55^th) and the Doubletree Hotel also in Norwalk just over the Darien line on the Post Road.  The Doubletree’s Rates are $89.00 per night plus tax; the Hilton’s Rates are $169.00 per night plus tax.  So, we have blocked a number of rooms at the Doubletree for Friday and Saturday night.  These are on hold until September 18^th.  So, if you are coming please make your reservations before then.  Here is how to do that:
