
Edward J. Schoenbauer, 61, of New Prague, died on Monday, December 1, at United Hospital in St. Paul
A native of Lanesburgh Township, Le Sueur County, Edward was born on August 21, 1942. He was a son of Joseph J. and Lillian (Kes) Schoenbauer. He attended St. Wenceslaus School, and New Prague High School. He served as a Sergeant with the U. S. Army.
Edward Schoenbauer and Dorothy B. Tikalsky were married at St. Wenceslaus Church, in New Prague, on Dec 1, 1962. He farmed and was also employed as a cement truck driver for Apple Valley Ready Mix (AVR).
Edward was a former member of Teamsters Union Local 221. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards and cooking, and he was mechanically gifted. He also enjoyed bowling, for many years, and he was a charter member of the New Prague Czech Dancers.
Edward J. Schoenbauer is survived by his wife, Dorothy Schoenbauer, New Prague; children, Tami (Robert) Schmitz, Terry Schoenbauer, Troy Schoenbauer (finance Linda Whetzel), and Timothy Schoenbauer, New Prague. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Larissa and Trevor Schmitz, and Krista and Megan Schoenbauer, New Prague, and Chuck (Katie) Schoenbauer, Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Ben Vosejpka and a nephew Loren Vosejpka.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, in New Prague. The Rev. George Freeman will officiate at the Mass of Chirstian Burial.
Pallbearers will be Richard, Chuck and Mark Schoenbauer, John Pumper, Tom Pexa, Leonard Ambrose, Ron Tuma and Clarence Turek.
Internment will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, in New Prague.
Visitation will be at the Bruzek Funeral Home, in New Prague, on Thursday, from 4 until 8 p.m., and on Friday, from 7:30 until 9:30 a.m.
