She was a graduate of Winthrop College. She was an educator who taught business at several schools including Edmunds HS, Manning HS, East Clarendon HS, Salem Schools and Sumter HS. She was a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Future Business Leaders of America. She was a member of Sardinia Presbyterian Church where she was a women's Bible study teacher and former president of Sardinia Presbyterian Women of the Church.

Libby Jackson (Ortmann) (1979)
Mama loved keeping up with all of her students. She always amazed me with how she could remember her students and usually a classroom story. She has been in heaven now for a little over a year and a half. Not a day passes that I don't use something she TAUGHT me! She left this world teaching right up until her last breath.
