Mrs. Paul, a graduate of Newark High School, died November 29, 2000, with her aughter at her side. She was born June 12, 1946, in Newark, to Betty Whissen Gray of Newark and the late Keith Shaw.

Mrs. Paul was a former employee of the Olive Garden in Heath, was known for her love of knitting and reading, and enjoyed making afghans for family and friends.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer K. Paul of Columbus; step-father, Jack W. Gray of Newark; brothers and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sharon Gray of Newark and Kenneth M. Gray of Marion; sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Jim Clary of Newark; nephews Zachery Gray, Steven Gray, Joe Boardman and Derrick Clary; nieces, Lea Bruce, Tiffany Bruce, Cara Gray and Vanessa Clary; uncles and aunts, Gene and Barbara Whissen and Dwight and Annabell Shaw; cousins, Michael and Karen Whissen and loving companion, her cat Buddy.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, J. Carl and Edna M. Whissen and Ollie and Harold Shaw and two uncles.
