A memorial service for Larry Schofield, 70, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2486 Newark Granville Rd., Newark, with Bishop Kris Watt officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
Larry passed away September 29, 2016, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center. He was born August 18, 1946, in Newark, to the late Don Aubrey and Eleanor (Lambert) Schofield. Larry was a US Army Veteran. He was a 1964 graduate of Newark High School, and a graduate of Ohio State University with a BA in Computer Science. He retired after 30 plus years from IBM. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, sports, coaching baseball, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Lou (Flanagan) Schofield; sons, Justin (Maureen) Schofield of Newark, Matthew (Julie) Schofield of Frazeysburg, and Patrick (Brittany) Schofield of Lancaster; daughters, Tammy “Tam” Watson of WA, Tisha (Donny) Hughes of Newark, Deborah (Rick) Schofield of Newark, and Sarah (Chuck) Schofield of Newark; sister, Donna Andrew of NJ, and eighteen grandchildren.
