NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of William "Tom" Stone, age 67, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest, as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.

Tom passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Licking Memorial Hospital. 

He was born March 28, 1946 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Oral and Mary (Carpenter) Stone.

Tom was a 1964 graduate of Newark High School. He retired from Holophane in Quality Control. Tom was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling earning numerous awards. He dearly loved his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn (Zonner) Stone of Newark; two daughters, Jeanette (Mike) Patterson of Belmont and Tammie (Kevin) Hartman of Hebron; and three grandchildren, Sabrina (Jason) Haumesser-Shaffer, Scott and Brian Hartman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Fred Haumesser.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street.
