James Wintgens VIEW PROFILE

NEWARK: A funeral service for James C. Wintgens, 65, of Newark will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home with Pastor Peggy Watts officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Wintgens passed away on September 8, 2012 at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. He was born on September 23, 1946 to the late Donald and Juanita (Hinger) Wintgens in Newark, OH.

He is survived by his sons, Thaddeus Wintgens of Frazeysburg, Aaron Wintgens of Howard and Zachary Wintgens of Newark; daughter, Megan Wintgens of Springfield; brothers, Charles (Penny) Wintgens of Danielson, CT and Rickey Wintgens of Newark; sisters, Donna (Ed) Loughman of Heath and Pam Rivera of Daytona, FL; 1 granddaughter, Zoe Webster of Springfield.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Sis Solana and Tina Abreu.

Mr. Wintgens was a loving father and grandfather. He was always there for his family. He retired as a Research Technician after 34 years at Owens Corning Science and Technology Center. He served in the U.S. Navy and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal in Cuba. He was an avid guitar player, singer and dancer. Music was his life. He had a great sense of humr and was a practical joker.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 North 21st St., Newark.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio, % Forest Hills Center, 2841 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231.
