George E. Miller
NEWARK: A Funeral Mass for George E. Miller, 62, of Newark, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 28, 2017, with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.
George, a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 23, 2017. He was born in Newark, Ohio on September 29, 1955 to Norma Jean (Francis) Miller of Newark, and the late George James Miller.
George was a graduate of Newark High School and Central Ohio Technical College. He was employed in the banking industry for many years, retiring from Park National Bank where he was a mortgage underwriter.
Always ready for the next adventure, George enjoyed hunting, boating, and rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was devoted to his family, and especially cherished his role as "Pappy" to his three beautiful granddaughters.
In addition to his mother, George is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lydia (Shinn) Miller; his children, Jordan Miller, Alyssa Harris (Nathan) and Cameron Miller (Nicole); his granddaughters, Olivia and Abigail Harris, and Avah Miller; his siblings, Pamela Morris (Keith), Randal Miller, Cynthia Kozak (Carl), and Joyce Cecutti (Alan); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack E. and Saundra (Pletcher) Shinn I; brothers-in-law, Jack E. Shinn II (Marie) and Sean Shinn; aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-8 P.M., Monday, November 27, 2017, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the United Way of Licking County.
