Earl W. Pease

NEWARK: A Celebration of Life Service for Earl W. Pease, 53 of Newark, will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in West Virginia at a later date.

Earl was born in Newark on May 17, 1956 to Emmett and Sandra (Harris) Pease of Newark. He passed away at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 while surround by his family.

Earl graduated from the Career Academy of Broadcasting and worked as a radio broadcaster for many years. He also worked as an account representative.

West Virginia University has lost one of its greatest Mountaineer fans with the passing of Earl. Earl lived and breathed Mountaineer sports by attending and watching sporting events and he always wore school apparel from his head to his toes. Today, the West Virginia Mountaineers cheering section will be a little quieter. Earl enjoyed collecting and listening to a wide variety of music, with his favorite artist being Elvis. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a huge Jeff Gordon fan. He also enjoyed bowling, but the most important part of his life was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his mother and father and he really enjoyed his mother's home cooking.

In addition to his parents, survivors include three uncles, Roger Hinger, George (Janie) Pease and Roy (Jackie) Guthrie; his favorite companion, his dog Max; close friends, Jim, Jack and Jon; and numerous cousins and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, George and Della Pease; maternal grandparents, Vaught and Belva Cottle; and Aunt Mary.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the James Cancer Hospital, 300 West 10th Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43210.

Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Visit www.CrissSchoedinger.com to share a story about Earl or to sign an online register book
