L.E. “Ric” Richardson, III, age 68, of Newark, passed away January 29, 2024. He was born January 29, 1956, to the late L.E. “Dick” Richardson, Jr., and Sharon (Oldfield) Richardson.
Ric graduated from Newark High School in 1974. He attended Culver Military Academy in the summers of 1973 and 1974. He graduated from the Florida Art Institute, Ft Lauderdale, Fl in 1980 with a degree in Advertising Design.
He was an exceptionally fine artist, having had some of his works displayed at the Newark Art Gallery. He had a gift of visualization when creating his art that was breathtaking and real.
Ric loved to watch OSU football, enjoyed car races, loved to read, and was savvy with computers. He had a great love of music and a quirky sense of humor. Ric loved to travel, spending time with family out west, Florida and Long Lake, Michigan. One of his most impactful trips was his journey to Jerusalem.
He loved to sail, Culver and Michigan, and ice skating in the backyard. All such wonderful, fun memories.
Most of all, Ric loved his family. His children and grandchildren were his true treasures, always looking forward to spending time together.
He is survived by a daughter, Lauren (Fritz) Drumm, son, Jeremy Hess; seven grandchildren, Trevor, Makenzie, Khya, Keegan, Fritz, Diedrich, and Lucien. His brother, Scott Richardson, his sisters Holly Richardson, and Heather (Linda) Richardson, and three nephews, Adam, Alex, and Nicholas Ross.
