On September 4, 1989, we lost our dear sister, Patricia Ellis Hanson., due to an aortic aneurism. You would have known her as Patty Ellis, Class of ’74. Patty was married to the love of her life, Capt. William Hanson, US Army. While living in Columbia, South Carolina, her husband was a Commanding Officer at FortJackson. At the time of her death, they were living in Heidelberg, Germany where she was enjoying life living off-base in a beautiful town in Germany, working at a bank and visiting various European countries such as France and Denmark with her husband. He is now a retired Lt. Colonel residing in South Carolina.
She was the daughter of the late Harlen and Louise Ellis of Newark, and her surviving sisters, all of Newark are Kathy Ellis Lanfranc, Lynne Ellis Nichols, Connie Ellis and Kim Ellis, all graduates of Newark Catholic High School and Mary Ellis Waite, NHS Class of ’76 and brother, Tom Ellis, NHS Class of ’73.
She is deeply missed by all who knew her.
