A Mass of Christian Burial for Timothy Patrick Curry, 54, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Newark, at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, with Fr. Bob Penhallurick officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, with Honor Guard provided by the Newark City Fire Department.
Tim died at his home in Newark on Sunday, June 21, 2009. He was born in Newark, Ohio on Feb. 7, 1955, to Homer L. Curry, of Newark, and the late Mary Patricia (Ehret) Curry.
Tim, a 1974 Newark High School graduate, was a fire fighter with the Newark City Fire Department for 26 years. He was on the first Newark City Dive and Rescue Team and was a member of the IAFF Local 109.
In addition to his father, Tim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lynda L. (Leffler) Curry, of the home; his daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Steven McMullen and Jessica and James Oiler, all of Newark; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard L. and Katie Curry, of Columbus and Dennis E. and Janet Curry, of Newark; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mollie A. and Larry Phillips and Georgeann M. and Lewis Pierce, all of Newark; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol and Ron McClary and Jean and Reeves Moyer, all of Alexandria; his brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, William J. and Teresa Leffler, of Johnstown; one expectant grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark.
