Richard L. “Rick” Moore, age 56, resident of Mansfield, died Thursday, June 2, 2011, at his home from an unexpected illness.
Born January 21, 1955 in Newark, Ohio to Gene and Joanne (Early) Moore, he had lived in the Mansfield area since 1977. Rick was a veteran of the US Navy, was a former patrolman for the Shelby police and most recently worked as a security guard at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital as well as managing several car washes in the area. He was a devoted grandfather whose grandchildren were his pride and joy and he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, mushroom hunting and deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Susan (Wade) Moore whom he married July 29, 1978; daughters, Katrina Elswick of Fredericktown and Kristi Moore (John Rose) of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Tiffany Lehman, Alec “Bug” Rose, Trinity Thornton, Skyler Elswick and Ashton Rose; his parents; siblings, Bob (Lisa) Moore, Sherry (Doug) Cramer, Terry (Linda Rockey) Moore and Shelly (Steve) Hook; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Tim Storms will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to Tuesday’s service. Memorial expressions may be made to MedCentral Hospice or the charity of one’s choice. |
