James 'Jimmy' Patrick Collins, 22, died suddenly on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, in Florida. Born and raised in Newport News, Jimmy was a member of the Denbigh High School band, showcasing his talents in the drum line while still graduating near the top of his class. He did his community proud by becoming an Eagle Scout. Jimmy recently received his BS degree, with highest honors, in chemistry from Georgia Tech University. He lived in Atlanta and was well on his way to earning his Masters and Ph.D. in chemistry from Georgia Tech. Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Annemarie Collins (nee Madden). He is survived by his father, William Joseph Collins III DPM; his brothers, Billy and Kevin Collins; aunts, Patricia Collins, Marsha Collins, Eileen McManus; uncles, Gordon Greenberg, Randy Melton, Edward Hand, Edward McManus; and grandfather, William J. Collins Jr.
