Honolulu, HI (93-95); Nassau, Bahamas (95-97); Pensacola, FL (97); Corpus Christi, TX (97-98); Kailua, HI (98-2003); Pensacola, FL (2003-Present)

What have you been doing for the last 20 years?

After graduating from the USCGA, spent two years aboard the CG Cutter Jarvis in Honolulu. Transferred to a counter-drug OPCEN at the U.S. Embassy in Nassau, Bahahmas. Went to flight school in Pensacola where I met my wife, Wendy. After "winging" went back to Hawaii where I flew the HC-130 for five years. Rescued several people and (more notably) one marooned canine. Went back to Pensacola in 93 as a flight instructor. Came off active duty with the CG in 06 and started flying with JetBlue Airways. Currently based in NY (but still live in Pensacola) and drilling with the Navy Reserve.

What are your favorite memories from high school?

Sailing/Canoe camping trips. Fireworks over Boggy Bayou. Art class with Mrs. Komando. Yearbook Staff. Soccer practice/games and the end of season party at our house. Lifeguarding at the Eglin Beachclub. Parties at the beach (Colonel's Point, etc.). All kinds of movies (midnight showings of Heavy Metal at Suds & Cinema). Rolling beer bottles at Sun Plaza. Watching friends play music (Shannon McDaniel, Duncan Williams, Matt Casey, etc). Sneeking into Mr. Dickie's room and pushing the intercom button so April would answer "front office." Playing lots of free golf at BWB. Hitting golf balls off Ashley Nelson's roof.

How often do you get back to the Niceville area?

I frequently visit my parents who still live in Valparaiso.
