What have you been doing for the last 20 years?

Took my high school hobby and turned it into a career in 1992 when I began working for The Bay Beacon in Niceville as a photographer. I worked with fellow NHS 89-er Mike Yon at the Defuniak Springs Herald from 93-97 before moving to Texas.

Since 97 I have moved around a lot, working for various newspapers in different positions, from lowly reporter to managing editor. I am currently the sports editor at a 6-day daily in the Oklahoma Panhandle. This is my second stint here.

What are your favorite memories from high school?

Sitting with friends on the bus ramp during break.

Eagle football. Nothing beats a game at Eagle Stadium on Friday night. And I've covered hundreds of games in five different states. Niceville is the best, hands down.

Running onto the field with my camera when Niceville won state and getting crushed in the melee.

How often do you get back to the Niceville area?

Since I moved away in 1997, I have been back twice - once for the 10-year reunion in 1999, and for about 4 hours on July 8, 2007.

Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? If so, who? (Facebook, My Space, etc. doesn't count!!!)

No, if Myspace and Facebook don't count.

List 5 things that most people from high school don't know about you.

I have won a lot of photography awards in Oklahoma and Texas from various press associations, including first place for sports photo from the Associated Press in Texas, and for feature photo from the AP in Oklahoma.

I took the AP-Oklahoma Photo of the Month in July 2006 and December 2006

I had quintuple bypass heart surgery in August 2006 and feel better than ever!
