Mary Frances Wagoner of Longmont died August 6, 2015 at her residence. She was 69.
Mary Frances was born on May 14, 1946 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Robert Latham and Alma Owens Latham. She graduated from DeBeque High School as Valedictorian in 1964. She then attended Mesa State College before transferring to Colorado State University, graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics.
Mary Frances married W. Harlan Wagoner on December 30, 1972 in Longmont. She taught Home Economics at Cherry Creek High School ’68-’69, then from 1969 to 1975 she worked at the Boulder County Extension Service as a 4-H youth agent. She taught in the St. Vrain Valley School District for over 30 years as a home economics teacher. She began her career at Niwot High School, teaching there from 1975-1983, later transferring to Longmont High to continue her Home Economics teaching career from 1983-1990. She later helped roll out the Teen Parenting program, beginning at Main St. School which was later moved to the Career Development Center, teaching there from 1990-2004. She impacted every life she touched.
Mary Frances was a member of the St. John’s Catholic Church. She also was active in P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter II; Delta Kappa Gamma, Teachers Sorority and in a quilters group with dear friends.
Mary Frances was devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband of Longmont; son Brady Wagoner of Denver; daughter Brandi (Jason Primm) Wagoner of Longmont; grandson Gabriel Harlan Wagoner of Longmont; brother Tom (Ginger) Latham of DeBeque, Colorado; and nieces and nephews Duke Latham, Traci Rohrig, and Tieg Latham. She was preceded in death by her brother Charlie Latham.
