Finding our classmates
Posted Sunday, August 7, 2011 08:09 PM

Classmates,

I have decided to be my usual pain in the behind and have been calling some of our classmates who haven't gotten to our website yet.  While I have been able to contact a few, many of our addresses &/or phone numbers are pretty old and generally no longer accurate.  If you know of any classmates who haven't admitted to knowing us by making a comment on our site, please give them a call or send a short letter and tell them to get off their butts and join the rest of us.  If you don't have the time or inclination to contact them, email me whatever information you have and I'll try to contact them.  (they won't remember me anyway, so it may be safer :) )

Please also make a comment in the "In Memory" section if you have a story or comment about any of our classmates who have beaten us home.  Let's not forget any of them.

Thanks for any & all help, and Linda & I are looking forward to seeing everyone next April.

John:

How about signing up Sandy Hill.

Too bad about her husband Edgar.

Charles

Charles,

I expected Sandy to join shortly after I talked to her.  I'll call back and see if there is a problem.  I guess it's possible that some of us don't use a computer much, but not likely.  How's everything with you?  The Virginia earthquake didn't shake us up much here.

Take care

John

 John:

Linda and I are doing fine. We have had a very hot and dry Summer. We got 0.75 to 0.90 inches of rain last night. My corn really needed it. We returned from two weeks of vacation two weeks ago. We visited my brother in Conrad, Iowa. He retired from teachinig at Tipton, Indiana and became a corn and beans farmer in Iowa. He has the best corn producing land in the U.S. They get more rain than we do, but they also have cold snowy Winters. Then we took my daughter to Michigan for a week. She only had two weeks off from Purdue. We visited Grand Rapids, Machinaw City, Mackinac Island and Saulte Ste Marie. We had nice weather (cooler than Indiana) and had a great time.

Looks like Irene is headed your way. I expect that you'll be getting plenty of rain on Saturday.

I am trying to sign up classmates also. I talked to Tom Bowman and Ronnie Martin yesterday and Tom signed up today. I need to revisit a couple of others and see what happened. 75 would look better than 51, but we are making progress!

Hope to see you on the 23rd.

Semper Fi,

Charles

Semper Fi? Now you're tugging at my heart strings. :)

I've been using spokeo & searchbug to find folks with only some success, but otherwise it would be easier to go door to door. :(

Kay Woods said she would try to get me any information she could, as she's been in town forever.  We'll see what our classmates can come up with.

I expect that we'll just get some rain and wind, and not much else.  Sure would be nice to be surfing at the beach right now though!

Take care.

Well, some of us are forever faithful, or just plain nuts!
