James Gamble, 58, Tipton

TIPTON -- James "Smiley" Gamble, 58, of Tipton and formerly of Noblesville, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Tipton County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Gamble was employed by Pioneer Hi-Bred for 38 years.

He was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Noblesville, the son of Lora and Bernice (Helfer) Gamble.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He married Sharon Young Oct. 18, 1991. She survives.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Mid-America Antique Tractor and Threshing Show.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Tammy Dulworth and JoEllen Bousman, both of Tipton, and Anna Roark of Frankton; a son, James Fisher of Tipton; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Elizabeth Gamble of Tipton; six granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling will be 2-8 p.m. today at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Harold Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.
