Mike Fultz died in late 2019. Mike and I were good friends, and I became something of a brother, staying at his house and tending to his mother until she died. Mike was the best man at Pat's and my wedding. No doubt he was a complex person. But if I had to distinguish one outstanding character trait it would be, easily, generosity. Mike and his family never felt perfectly at home in Noblesville and prided themselves, with good reason, on their southern hospitality. They welcomed me into their home with real grace and good humor. Our children called Mike's mother "Granny Polly." I miss her and Mike.
