Kristi DeLeon was killed in an auto accident in 1997. Her father, Dodger DeLeon, started a nursing scholarship in her memory that is now in its 13th year. Most of the scholarship funds are generated from the Norcross Car Show, held each May in downtown Norcross. Dodger invites everyone to come out to the Car Show; it gets bigger and better every year. This reunion year, all proceeds from NHS Class of 1990 reunion ticket sales will go to Kristi's memorial scholarship fund. The Class of 1990 will be featured as a sponsor on the 2011 Norcross Car Show commemorative t-shirt sold at the event.
Kristi and I were childhood friends at Norcross Elementary School. I have fond memories of her attending my fourth grade birthday party.
